DRRP Graduate Students
Duties include performing literature reviews, data entry and other research supportive tasks, studying participant recruitment, data collection and creation, and editing of health promotion materials. Ideal candidates should have a background in disability studies, physical or occupation therapy, pediatric medicine, kinesiology, nutrition, or public health.

Emilie Buscaj, B.A., is from Denver, CO. She received her undergradute degree in Anthropolgy from the Univeristy of Colorado at Boulder. She is currently working on her Master's in Public Health in the division of Community Health Sciences with an emphasis is Behavior Science and Health Promotion at UIC. She is a graduate assistant for the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research on the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Project. |

Natasha A. Spassiani, MSc, is from Toronto where she received both her BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees in Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University. Natasha has a breadth of expertise from exercise physiology to sport psychology. She has experience working as an adaptive fitness instructor for children with developmental delays and youth who struggle with weight and movement. Natasha is currently a Doctoral Student in Disability Studies and Human Development and works as a Graduate Assistant on the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Project. Her research interests consist of health promotion for individuals with intellectual disabilities and how physical activity, exercise and sport can be used to help facilitate independent life skills in persons with intellectual disabilities. |
