The Inclusive Fitness Coalition (IFC) is a national coalition dedicated to addressing the policy, environmental, and societal issues associated with the lack of inclusion and access to physical activity among people with disabilities. The Inclusive Fitness Coalition was founded in partnership by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability (NCPAD), and the RERC on Recreational Technologies and Exercise Physiology Benefiting Individuals with Disabilities. The Coalition's Organizational Members are working to improve U.S. and global health by promoting increased participation by people with disabilities in physical activity, leisure, sport, and recreation.
IFC is a catalyst to connect the world of people with disabilities with the world of fitness, sports and recreation. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate health risks associated with sedentary lifestyles among youth, adults and seniors with disabilities by providing inclusive fitness programs and venues throughout the nation. To achieve this, IFC will continue to work with government, business, non-governmental organizations, philanthropy, and the public to address this critical set of issues affecting millions people in the United States alone.
We invite organizations and individuals to join IFC and support our efforts to promote inclusive opportunities in physical activity, sport and recreation for people with disabilities. As a member, you can play a formative role in calls for action and provide advice and support on issues related to inclusive physical activity.
